What the checker looks at
- The card count (Commander: exactly 100, including your commander)
- Singleton: one of each card, except basic lands
- Banned and non-legal cards in the chosen format
- Cards outside your commander's color identity
- The Game Changers in your deck and the lowest bracket that fits
What the brackets mean and the full Game Changers list: Commander brackets explained. The rules themselves: Commander rules.
Frequently asked questions
- Which formats can I check?
- Commander, Brawl, Oathbreaker and the 60-card formats such as Standard, Pioneer, Modern, Legacy, Vintage and Pauper. Legality comes from Scryfall and follows the official ban lists.
- How does the checker set my bracket?
- Only on the number of Game Changers: none = bracket 1 or 2, one to three = bracket 3, more = bracket 4 or higher. It does not count mass land denial, extra turns or combos; check those yourself.
- My commander is not recognised.
- Put it under a "Commander" heading at the top of your list, the way Moxfield and Arena export. Otherwise pick it from the list after checking.
